Watch Josh Watching Josh on Logo

Posted by Lee on September 27th, 2008

We didn’t get a chance to do a video commentary with Joshua Klipp when he was here this summer, but fortunately, he’s done one for you!

It’s like one of those infinite mirror setups: here’s Josh watching Josh host NewNowNext on Logo. And then Josh watching the premiere of Josh’s video “tell me the…” from his album won’t stop now. Joshua Klipp - Won't Stop Now

Justin Bond takes Berlin takes Manhattan

Posted by Alexander on August 15th, 2008

Spiegelworld, a traveling cabaret venue decked out in hardwood paneling and chandeliers, is back in New York City and this year features our very own diva de deviance, Justin Bond Kiki & Herb.

He leads a roster of master cabaret artists including Ute Lemper Band, Randy Kerber & Ute Lemper - The Best of Ute Lemper who, let’s face it, is probably secretly the love child of Kurt Weil and Marlene Dietrich.  Not bad company for an out Artist who’s made just about every major music venue blush with shame…including Carnegie Hall.

Spiegelworld isn’t just a blast from the Weimar past, it’s a faithful reproduction of the glamour and grandeur that ruled Berlin’s and Paris’ underground music scene after WWI but before Germany developed its insatiable taste for repression.

Check out Spiegelworld here, along with its schedule of performances.

Rachael Sage tours the world.  She’s got 8 albums under her belt, her own record label, and thousands of fans.  And this week on Homophonic, she regales regally with Alex.

Her new album, Chandelier, is a tour-de-force and she unleashes it all with her trademark charm on our rather star-struck host.  Of course, you don’t wind up an international Out Music Super Star without some good stories from the road.  Rachael’s humble beginning?  Touring with Ani DiFranco.  That’s right.  THE Ani DiFranco.

And if all her tales and glittering tracks from Chandelier weren’t enough, she even graces the homostudio with a live performance of her first single from the album, “Vertigo”.

So buckle up, fellow homophones…You’re about to ride at light speed through the past, present, and future of Miss Rachael Sage.

See it all right here.
