We didn’t know where to begin, either! So when she sat down with us in our studio, we asked her to go Deep. Deepa than Deep. We started at the very beginning in New Orleans when her jazz-musician father sat her down and told her to sing because she had a voice that needed to be heard.
We followed her to California where she danced a-go-go and taught young women about the African rhythms that were lying in wait right under their feet.
And we landed with her in New York when she hooked up with Junior Vasquez and launched a musical odyssey that defies genre, style, gender, race, and sexuality.
